"Frankie & Jake"

Frankie is a neatness freak always cleaning himself. When I mop the floor he runs across on tip toe. His weight is around 9 pounds. He loves to play. All the little stuffed animals I used to have, are now in Frankie's toy box (along with some of my socks).
Both cats are sweet and fun. Jake prefers laying in the dirt I sweep up, and chasing the broom. When I look at my cats, I wonder how anyone sees us as mere biologicals that happened scientifically. At precisely 4:30 pm everyday Frankie comes and sits on my drafting table and stares at me so I'll get his dinner. When he's impatient, he will scratch the furniture. Jake figures he'll eat eventually, "No worries," and plops on the floor, at my feet. Once in awhile he'll sit on my lap and put his front paws on my drafting table but he's never pushy. With detail like that, how can there not be a Creator?
I saw on a web forum that some Christians don't believe creation should be taught in school at all. I don't believe that. Even DNA has proven the big bang fizzled. We are created by God. The scientific side is minor compared to the complexity of our brains, emotions, personalities and intellect. DNA in itself is astounding, not an accident. Don't get me wrong though, it is important that kids are taught about how babies are born, preferably by parents and after they are teenagers. Sometimes I feel sad for the stuff kids have to deal with so young today. To me, there is no other explanation than an awesome God who created us in His image.
This Psalm describes how God created us. My prayers are with Kate and William in England, as she waits to deliver the baby. We're excited in America too : ) This is a Psalm we all might appreciate.
1 O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
3 You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
5 You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.
It is hard to understand all that God does for us each day. Hard to understand how He can take care of so many people. He knows each baby before it's born and gives them a unique design.
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me,"
Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
I tried to ignore God. But He's not so willing to let us go...
13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother's womb.
He actually forms each of us. He probably knows how we fit into the plan before we are even in the womb. We are designed to be different with gifts and abilities.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
He does have it figured out early : )
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.
In the mornings Frankie waits for me to get up. Then he does a little jump and wants me to pick him up and pet him. He won't even eat his breakfast until he gets a hug. I've been slacking lately on my quiet times. This Psalm and Frankie remind me of the joy in spending time with the Lord in the mornings.
19 Oh, that You would slay the wicked, O God!
Depart from me, therefore, you bloodthirsty men.
20 For they speak against You wickedly;
Your enemies take Your name in vain.
21 Do I not hate them, O Lord, who hate You?
And do I not loathe those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred;
I count them my enemies.
Amen. I pray people will not fear God nor His commandments. That we will be one in His Spirit and the truth will be revealed. I am also very grateful for the young people who are growing up with faith.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
Try me, and know my anxieties;
24 And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting.
I used to be afraid of God knowing my heart. Now I welcome His wisdom and encouragement. It can come through a song on the radio, a friend, Pastor, or reading His Word.
May God bless William, Kate and the baby! And all of us, especially those who are expecting a baby. We are made with love with a special plan in mind. Good to know Never Give Up On Me, Josh Bates (Link) He never gives up on us.
