My strength

I love this Psalm.  It's so inspiring and beautiful.  Where does my strength come from?  Does it come from the mountains?  No, it comes from the God who created the heavens and the earth.  If I were to highlight my favorite verses, it would be all of them : )  In the Psalms, there is such variety- from the lowest depths of despair to the highest heights of praise.

Psalms 121

Our strength comes from our Creator, the God who sees and understands, not the creation.
1 I look up to the mountains;
does my strength come from mountains?
2 No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.

Sometimes it seems like I'm alone in all of this.  But, that's not the case at all.  God won't fall asleep- even when I do.  He won't let me stumble although my knees feel bruised from praying.  He hears.
3 He won't let you stumble,
your Guardian God won't fall asleep.
4 Not on your life! Israel's
Guardian will never doze or sleep.

He's right at my side to protect me, keeping me from being overwhelmed.  Reading His Word revives my soul and I know I can keep going.
5 God's your Guardian,
right at your side to protect you —
6 Shielding you from sunstroke,
sheltering you from moonstroke.

He guards us from evil, if we allow Him to.  He guards us leaving, returning, now and always.   He is awesome!
7 God guards you from every evil,
he guards your very life.
8 He guards you when you leave and when you return,
he guards you now, he guards you always.
