Word-filled Wednesday

© Karen Kyle Ericson, all rights reserved.
Sometimes I get so caught up thinking about the future, I forget to use all those pretty pens on my drafting table : )  It's hard isn't it?  The Lord is timeless; He only gave us one day to think about.  Guess He knew that's all we could really handle.  Just today.  Not yesterday, not tomorrow.  Today.  I put the verse above, in my calendar to read everyday.

Isaiah 43:18-19
18 “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland."

  1. Someone said that worry is the greatest form of atheism. I have always tried to remember that, for remembering it helps me turn everything over to HIM.

  2. Thanks Clint- that's a very wise thing to remember. : ) Yup He's the one who's got it all figured out. I'm going to remember that "worry is the greatest form of atheism."

  3. Ah to live a life free from worry...that must be truly a beautiful thing. And it must be possible...it must be! With a lot of prayer? A lot of hard work? I think about this a lot, it's a perplexing thing Jesus asks of us only because it is so contrary to our natures. I would love to get to a place where I really rely on God and don't worry!!:)

Beautiful work station by the way...I love all your colorful pens.:)

  4. Thanks Colleen! I tend to go between no worries and, "What am I doing?" It isn't easy but keeping Bible verses handy does help me. Sometimes I have to repeat them until I believe them. : ) It's not so easy though that's for sure! God bless you.

  7. I spent the last 2 years learning to focus on today - not the past or tomorrow - just day. I was able to find joy that way. That way, it frees up our minds to do things like. . . using the awesome array of drafting pens on your table. I just want to pull all of those pens out and color! Love it!

  8. Thanks Alida and Blue. I agree Blue when I do this, I feel happy about my work and have fun! Yesterday I played with my photo light umbrella. It was a lot of fun. God's Word is so amazingly true. God bless you both!

  9. Hi Karen -

    Thank you for posting this.

Wow! I read Isaiah 43 - KJV, this morning in my intimate time with our Lord. And now I'm here where I read the very same scriptures from the chapter that quickened in my spirit this a.m.

    Only GOD.
