Wordless Wednesday

This is Isabel from my last post : )  Here she is posing for her glamor shot.  I sure love her. This is one of the photos I took to paint her portrait.  It reminded me of the other side of the story.  God saw this elderly woman, lonely, angry and empty, living in a Nursing Home 28 years ago.  He loved her so much, He sent a young college student to be her friend and lead her to Himself.  And, now she's dancing with Jesus and the angels in Heaven.   He doesn't forget us or ignore us.  He'll take care of us too, when we get older.

  4. This photo so touches my heart! It reminds me of my grandmother. She passed away in a nursing home, at the age of 94. I had moved away from home and could not visit more than 2 or 3 times a year. Oh, she had plenty of family and church visitors, but she had retreated into her own world. Whenever I visited her, she would cry. I think I brought back memories...pleasant, but painful and missed. I tried to move her to Denver with me, before she had to move to the nursing home, but it was too much for me to handle and continue to work and take care of my husband and children. Sometimes, she didn't know me and would try to fight and run away--she had always been the most lovable, gentle and caring person I knew. But, dementia is debilitating. Hence, I had to take her back home, to Oklahoma, which eventually led to a nursing home. My mom looked after her as long as she was able. She only lasted a few years before passing away, but I miss her, so much, it hurts. I know that I will see her, again! My grandma was the one everyone counted-on, before she began to decline. But, she had 90 great years of love, joy and tremendous faith in our Lord. I will continue to carry-on her faith and leave it with those I touch...Thank you, for this photo. I don't believe in coincidences, so I'm sure the lord led me to you. keep dancing with your friend and enjoy her! Many blessings to you and yours. Cynthia

  5. Thanks for stopping by and for sharing that wonderful story. It's so hard to see people pass away but knowing they're with the Lord makes it so much easier. God bless you abundantly!
